About Lynn Pocklington
BC Artist, Lynn Pocklington, grew up in North Vancouver and completed the Art Program at Capilano College in 1986. After a 6 year stint in the Vancouver commercial art scene she and family moved to the Pemberton Valley and there opened her own business, Whistler Graphic Designs.
Owning and breeding horses has been a great inspiration for many of her earlier acrylics. Pack trips into the back country of Pemberton helped develop her technique of blending the rugged nature of the valley with the native wildlife into her paintings. In winter the family are avid skiers and snowmobilers of the spectacular Whistler Peaks and the Pemberton Ice Cap.
The on hand experience is evidenced by her vibrant watercolours of the areas. Recently a new vista has opened with a family summer cottage on the Sunshine Coast close to the Copeland Islands and Desolation Sound. This area abounds with sea life, eagles, magnificent ocean views and sunsets.
Her latest acrylic piece, Sweet Dreams, a seal pup, reflects the visual impact this area is having on her art.
Lynn is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Whistler and Pemberton Arts Councils. She donates to and participates in various charities and events. Some of which are the Steelhead Society, Blackcomb Freestyle World Cup Society, Whistler Health Care Foundation, Coast Salmon Enhancement Society. Her events include Artrageous, Whistler and Pemberton Art Walks, Bizarre Bazaar and the Pemberton Winter Festival. Her work is sold internationally and she takes private commissions upon approval.
Lynn lives in Pemberton with her husband Peter and three children. She works from her studio in Pemberton where her works may be viewed by appointment. Note cards and a limited number of prints are available for sale at various locations in Pemberton, Whistler and Vancouver.

From the Artist
Growing up with a father who was a very talented acrylic and oil painter, as well as a graphic artist had a great influence on my pursuit of art and design. Though I have switched to fine art full time, the basics of design I learned from my father and experiences in Vancouver form a basis to my work. I have always had a love of animals and their enviroment and feature them in my art. I want to share my personal experiences through my paintings and hopefully connect and perhaps open new vistas for viewers of my artwork.
